‘My Bleeding Heart’ stems from a dream about a tender and broken-hearted Renaissance debutante, complete with a Sacred Heart dripping tears of icy aquamarine, and orange and yellow sapphires. The engraved ‘craquelure’ texture is on the front and continues through to the side-temples, punctuated with a solid gold, ruby, and amethyst drops. The two incomplete hearts at front are joined by the nose bridge, thus completing one another. The pieces in front are set on the lenses to appear as though they are floating. This piece is totally unique, in model with stone and metal combination, a total of 12 of this model being produced ever (with different stones and metals), so it is absolutely one of a kind. As these pieces are handmade and Francis de Lara pieces are made to look like well preserved artefacts rather than brand new pieces, slight ‘imperfections’ are actually part of the personality of the piece: scratches, matte and discolouration areas, and inclusions in some stones.

The piece comes with a luxury, handmade Tuscan leather ‘clutch’ purse-case.
